PARIS, France – Congressman Robert Pittinger (R-NC) wants to see the same freedom America’s founding fathers envisioned for the inhabitants of the United States, for the people of Iran.

“When our forefathers met 241 years ago, this time, they pledged their lives, their fortune, their sacred honor, for a Declaration of Independence, for a new America,” Pittinger said on Saturday while addressing a sea of people at the National Council of Resistance of Iran’s (NCRI) annual rally in France. On Tuesday, America will celebrate and commemorate gaining its independence from Great Britain with Independence Day. “Yes, from that, we found Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness, and that’s what we want for Iran today,” Pittinger said.

The rally took place at Villepente Exhibition Center, near Paris, and received tens of thousands of attendees from all over the world who are committed to seeing the Iranian regime removed from power within their lifetime. In addition to Iranians, Americans, Europeans, Saudi Arabians, Syrians, and Kurds were also present. Other speakers at the event included former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, former New York Rudy Giuliani, former Sen. Joseph Lieberman, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton, and Saudi Prince Turki bin Al-Faisal among others.

Pittinger, who serves as Chairman of the Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare and Vice Chairman of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Terrorism and Illicit Finance, also told the crowd, “The American people love and support the freedom-loving people of Iran. The United States Congress supports the freedom-loving people of Iran.”

In delivering his closing remarks he said, “So I want you to know, as your brother, your friend, I’m a Christian, I’m a follower of Jesus Christ, I respect you. And we stand with you, we work for you, we pray for you. God bless you. Free Iran!”

Bolton, Gingrich, Giuliani, and Lieberman each expressed support for President Donald Trump’s strong position against the oppressive Iranian regime and commended him for refusing to adopt the same police the previous administration took on the world’s largest exporter of terrorism.
