NEW YORK, May 4 (UPI) — Alicia Keys is making her return with the new single “In Common.”

The 35-year-old singer shared the song and its promo art on social media Wednesday, writing, “You ready?! I’m ready! New music… #InCommon.”

“In Common” will appear on Keys’ forthcoming sixth studio album, which is expected to debut in late summer. She will perform the single for the first time live on the May 7 episode of Saturday Night Live.

“We all have our issues, our challenges,” the singer said of the song in a statement. “We are all kind of messed up and that’s all right. In fact, that’s what helps us understand each other. To me, that is what’s so beautiful.”

Keys released Girl On Fire in 2012, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and includes the singles “Brand New Me” and “New Day.” She has since released the song “It’s On Again,” which appeared on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 soundtrack.

“I went into the studio this time with a lot more purpose and intention,” the singer previously said of the new album to Vibe. “I’ve come to the place where I recognize things about myself and the world that I didn’t quite recognize before.”

“One of the things that spawned for me on this album is the amount of stereotyping that we’re faced with every day,” she revealed. “These songs — I promise you with all my heart — it’s the best album I’ve ever done, period.”

Keys and husband Swizz Beats are also busy with their growing family. The couple married in 2010 and are parents to 5-year-old son Egypt and 16-month-old son Genesis.
