Melanie Masson became the second hopeful to leave X Factor after being voted off the show following another judge deadlock.
Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger both voted for Masson but Tulisa Contostavlos and Louis Walsh forced a public vote after backing boyband District 3 on Sunday.
The 44-year-old redhead, who sang Lorraine Ellison’s “Stay With Me”, eventually lost out while District 3 progressed after performing their version of Bryan Adams’ hit single “(Everything I Do) I Do It for You.”
“I’ve absolutely enjoyed every single second of being here,” said the mother of two. “It’s just been the best experience and I’ve loved every minute of it.”
Barlow admitted he “was gutted” and “really disappointed” to see his protege leave the show.
