Police were awaiting the post-mortem results Tuesday of three children found dead in a house in Lowestoft and their mother who plunged to her death from a multi-story car park.
The woman, named locally as Fiona Anderson, was reported to be eight months pregnant with her fourth child.
She was found shortly after 8am on Monday with fatal head injuries.
Police then discovered the bodies of her three children during a search of their nearby house.
Anderson, who was believed to be in her early twenties, had left a message on her Facebook account on Sunday, saying: “My babies will go with me.”
Friends said the mother had recently split up from her boyfriend, Craig McLelland, while her own Facebook posts suggest she feared social services would take her children away.
Speaking outside Anderson’s home, friend Karligh Smith, 20, said: “It’s devastating, she was the most lovely mother.
“She had asked social services for help because she had three kids, another on the way, and she had to do all that by herself.
“Craig is devastated too, he came here to pay his respects this afternoon.”
Police said they were treating the children’s deaths as suspicious but that there was no further threat to the community.
Formal identification is expected to take place after post-mortem examinations later by a Home Office pathologist.
