LOS ANGELES, June 14 (UPI) — John Stamos tweeted he is “home and well” after he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence this weekend.

Officers with the Beverly Hills Police Department stopped the 51-year-old television star’s vehicle Friday night after they received numerous complaints about a motorist driving erratically.

The police determined Stamos was intoxicated and needed attention for a possible medical issue, so they brought him to a hospital to get checked out. He is due in court Sept. 11 to answer the DUI charge.

“Thanks to everyone for their love & support. I’m home & well. Very appreciative of the BHPD & Cedars for their care,” Stamos said in a Twitter post Saturday, without offering further explanation for the incident.

The actor will soon be seen in two new small-screen series Grandfathered and Fuller House.
