BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) — The group behind the Golden Globes is calling on dozens of stars to help present more than $2 million in grants to nonprofit arts organizations.
Lady Gaga, Jake Gyllenhaal, Halle Berry, Jon Hamm and Jane Fonda are just a few of the celebrities expected at the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s private grants dinner Thursday in Beverly Hills, California,
The group supports film restoration and various arts and entertainment charities with some of the spoils from its annual Golden Globe Awards.
Traditionally awarded at a low-key luncheon, the grants presentation became a dinner event last year, when it was also streamed live on the HFPA website.
This year’s event will not be live-streamed, but that hasn’t dented the A-list turnout. It’s never too early to start campaigning for that Golden Globe.
