SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The attorney of a disbarred Harvard-trained lawyer charged with the kidnapping for ransom of a California woman says his client will plead not guilty to the charges.

Attorney Thomas Johnson says in a brief news release Monday that he is representing Matthew Muller and that his client will plead not guilty in the March kidnapping for ransom of Denise Huskins in the city of Vallejo.

Johnson has already pleaded not guilty to charges related to a June home-invasion robbery in the city of Dublin.
