HOLLYWOOD, Aug. 25 (UPI) — Blue is the Warmest Color actress Lea Seydoux is reportedly in early talks with Fox for a starring role in Gambit.
According to reports the French actress may play Belladonna Boudreaux — head of the Assassins Guild and Gambit’s childhood love — opposite Channing Tatum’s character in the X-Men spinoff.
Deadline reports Fox originally considered Seydoux alongside Mad Max: Fury Road’s Abbey Lee and Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation’s Rebecca Ferguson. Ferguson reportedly dropped out to take a leading role in The Girl On The Train.
Tatum reached a deal with 20th Century Fox earlier this month after some rocky publicity involving negotiations. Rupert Wyatt is set to direct the Josh Zetumer-written film.
Gambit is expected in theaters Oct. 7, 2016.
