LONDON, June 15 (UPI) — Prince William is featured on the cover of Attitude this week, the first time a British royal has been featured on the cover of a gay publication.

In the article, the prince speaks up about bullying of LGBT people, Attitude said Wednesday.

Along with the photograph of William on the cover is the cover line: “No one should be bullied for their sexuality or any other reason,” something the prince said after inviting Attitude to bring LGBT people to Kensington Place to talk about their experiences with bullying, CNN reported.

Magazine editor Matthew Todd facilitated the palace discussion, which included a conversation about drug addiction, suicide attempts, depression and eating disorders. The Duke of Cambridge then posed for the cover, photographed by Leigh Keily.

William’s appearance on the cover of the gay magazine comes just days after a mass shooting at the Orlando gay nightclub, Pulse, that left 49 dead and 53 wounded. William and his wife, Kate Middleton, signed a book of condolence at the U.S. Embassy in London on Tuesday.

The prince’s anti-bullying efforts are part of a joint campaign to address mental health difficulties that he started with Kate and brother Prince Harry, People reported. William has also highlighted the issue of male suicide – something he has encountered in his work as an air ambulance pilot.

“No one should be bullied for their sexuality or any other reason and no one should have to put up with the kind of hate that these young people have endured in their lives,” the prince said in a statement.
