LOS ANGELES, Dec. 18 (UPI) — Natalie Portman made her debut as Jackie Kennedy on Wednesday.

Vanity Fair magazine shared a first photo of the 34-year-old actress as the late former first lady to promote Portman’s new movie, Jackie. The Black Swan star will play Kennedy in the forthcoming Pablo Larrain biopic.

Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky produced the film, which covers the four days between John F. Kennedy’s assassination and subsequent burial. The 35th U.S. president was killed by Lee Harvey Oswald on Nov. 22, 1963, and succeeded by Lyndon B. Johnson.

Kennedy, who was known as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis after marrying Aristotle Onassis in 1968, wed John F. Kennedy in 1953, and shared four children with the politician. She was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in January 1994, and died five months later at age 64.

Jackie co-stars Peter Sarsgaard, Greta Gerwig and John Hurt, and will open in 2017. Portman will next star in Jane Got a Gun with Ewan McGregor, and is also slated for Knight of Cups with Christian Bale and Planetarium with Lily-Rose Depp.
