Purse thief crashes through glass

BALLAJURA, Australia, April 1 (UPI) —

Police in Australia have released video footage of a purse snatcher who crashed through a plate glass window while making his getaway.

Western Australia police released footage of the Sunday incident, which involved an unidentified man taking a woman’s purse at a news agency at a shopping center in Ballajura, a suburb of Perth, and crashing through a plate glass window next to a sliding glass door while fleeing, the Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported Monday.

The video shows bystanders helping the man to his feet without realizing he had just stolen a purse.

The man, who suffered cuts, fled with a second man in a car investigators believe to have been stolen.
