Washington (AFP) – The US employment rate in November fell to its lowest level since August 2007 as the economy continued to pump out new jobs, all but guaranteeing an interest rate hike this month.

Official figures released Friday by the Labor Department showed the jobless rate fell 0.3 points to 4.6 percent, with a solid 178,000 new positions created.
