Basseterre (Saint Kitts and Nevis) (AFP) – West Indies captain Jason Holder won the toss and put Australia in to bat in the fifth match of the Tri-Nation One-Day International series at Warner Park in St Kitts on Monday.
Despite being routed for 116 on the way to a six-wicket defeat at the hands of the Aussies in their last match in Guyana, the home side remains unchanged and will again be relying on the combination of spin and pace to restrict the World Cup-holders and leaders of the competition.
Australia have made two changes from the team that fought back to defeat South Africa by 36 runs in the first match in St Kitts on Saturday.
David Warner, whose hundred earned him the “Man of the Match” award and laid the platform for his team’s formidable total against the Proteas, has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament with a fractured finger.
Travis Head makes his ODI debut in Warner’s place and will slot into the middle-order with Usman Khawaja promoted to open alongside Aaron Finch.
Continuing with their policy of alternating their two strike bowlers, Nathan Coulter-Nile returns to the Australian eleven with Mitchell Starc rested.
