Census Worker Fed Up, Quits Over 'Waste'

WOAI: A former Census worker says he quit after became fed up with the taxpayer waste.



Gilbert McCoy said he was told to repeatedly go to empty lots and storage and boat sheds to see if anyone lived there. The Census requires workers to visit places up to seven times before they can ask a neighbor if the place is vacant. McCoy said it’s a big waste of money and wrote to Congressman Lamar Smith to complain.
