In light of an al-Qaeda splinter group, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), taking control of several northern regions in Iraq and reportedly advancing towards Baghdad, Thursday at the White House daily press briefing, ABC’s chief White House corespondent Jonathan Karl asked press secretary Jay Carney whether President Barack Obama would still list ending the war in Iraq and “decimating and destroying” al-Qaeda as his main foreign policy achievements.
