Trump on Ground Troops Against Islamic State: ‘I Would Do Whatever You Have To’

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump said that he “would do whatever you have to do” to fight ISIS on Tuesday’s “Fox & Friends” on the Fox News Channel.

Trump stated, [relevant remarks begin around 3:00] in response to a question on whether he’d fight ISIS with US ground troops, “I would do whatever you have to do. I’ve been saying on your show for a long time, take the oil, and you know that. I’ve been saying it very loud and strong for years. I mean, I’ve been saying it for years. they’ve never done it. In fact, Obama had a — one of his generals come out two — about a year ago and say why that doesn’t work. And I said, can you believe it? because I’ve been very loud and vocal. I’ve been the only one and now all of a sudden they’re saying to take the oil. But in the meantime, they’re rich. They’ve made a million dollars a day, at least a million dollars a day, and I would still say it. And one of the reasons they haven’t wanted to attack it very strongly is they didn’t want to create environmental hazards. Can you believe this? I mean, they didn’t want an environmental hazard. But, you got to take the oil. you got to take the wealth. you got to stop the banking circuits. You know, they have banking, very sophisticated banking chains and you have to stop that. there are a lot of things you could do. We don’t do it. We don’t do anything.”
