At a campaign event at the Boutwell Auditorium in Birmingham, AL, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), a candidate for the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination, took a shot at his opponent Hillary Clinton, who was thought to be a shoo-in for the nomination but now finds herself in a neck-and-neck contest with Sanders in the early primary states of Iowa and New Hampshire.

“As many of you know, we began this campaign about nine months ago and when we began, we were 50 points behind,” Sanders said. “We were 50 points behind the inevitable Democratic nominee. Well guess what — that inevitable candidate ain’t so inevitable today.”
