Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Milwaukee County, WI Sheriff David Clarke reacted to the shooting of an Americus, GA policeman a day earlier.
“The senseless slaughter of America’s finest continues,” Clarke said. “My heart and prayers go out to the good people in the state of Georgia … It rips my heart out every time I hear. When a law enforcement officer is killed in the line of duty, a bit of every law enforcement officer in America dies with them.”
Clarke went on to add that those behind the killing of cops should be tried through the federal system with the penalty of conviction being the death penalty so that it supersedes the penalties imposed by states without the death penalty.
“Then the federal government — the federal court system should enact a death penalty for these cases, and they should go through the federal system and upon conviction they should be put to death,” he added.
