Bossert: There’s ‘Some Disproportionate Coverage’ of Arpaio’s Pardon Right Now

Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Trump homeland security and counterterrorism adviser Tom Bossert described the coverage of President Donald Trump’s decision to pardon of former Maricopa County, AZ Sheriff Joe Arpaio as “disproportionate.”

“I think it’s pretty straightforward what the president did,” Bossert told host George Stephanopoulos. “I think there is disproportionate coverage of it right now.”

He continued, “I think the Arpaio pardon is pretty straightforward. George, as you know, the president you worked for and just about every modern president ends up with some controversial pardons. I think the president has been pretty clear on it. I certainly don’t think it’s fair to characterize him as not caring about the rule of law.”
