Swollen Head: Weiner Makes $500K, Says 'I Make Far Less Money Than I Should'

On Thursday, a glowing profile of former Congressman Anthony Weiner (D-NY) made the pages of the New York Times. According to that profile, Weiner and his wife Huma Abedin disclosed that their income was a swollen $496,000 for 2012. But that’s not enough for Weiner, who with his typical tact, says he’s actually undercharging: “I make far less money than I should, with all the advice that I’ve given and how lucrative it’s turned out to be for the companies.”

Weiner also insists he is a newfangled capitalist: “I am a good capitalist,” he told the Times.

How convenient for him, in his post-Congressional, pre-comeback career, to convert into a capitalist, and a Gordon Gekko-type “greed is good” capitalist at that. In 2008, Weiner said, “When the gap grows so far between those at the top and everyone else, we lose this very American sense of that aspiration that keeps us moving forward.”
