Jordan Hunt, 26, surrendered to the Toronto Police Service on Saturday, reported Human Defense.

According to the Toronto Police Service, Hunt was charged with eight counts of assault and seven counts of mischief under $5,000.

The police report also alleges that Hunt is linked to another assault in August on a pro-life advocate with the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform.

Hunt was seen in a video that circulated on the internet performing “a vicious roundhouse kick” on Marie-Claire Bissonnette, 27, after she accused him of vandalizing pro-life advocates’ signs and clothing with marker pens.

Bissonnette filmed Hunt with her phone as he aggressively challenged her anti-abortion views concerning when a woman is raped and becomes pregnant as a result.

When she replied “it’s a baby” and abortion was “killing,” Hunt spun around and delivered a roundhouse kick to her in the shoulder, causing her phone to be knocked to the ground.

Before fleeing the scene, Hunt claimed he was aiming to kick her phone and hit Bissonnette by mistake.

Hunt has since defended his actions on Twitter using a #Resistance hashtag. Ironically, he also compared himself to GandhiMartin Luther King, Jr., and Susan B. Anthony – all of whom were pro-life.

The hair stylist was fired from his job at Nobles Studio 101 in Toronto when the video of his assault went viral.

“We don’t condone his actions and he has been let go,” the hair salon posted to its Instagram account. “We believe that everyone has a right to an opinion and the right to voice their opinion without fear of physical violence.”

Bissonnette told Human Defense she intends to press charges.

“I hope this unfortunate experience can remind the public of the violent deaths preborn babies experience from abortion,” she said. “What this man did was an act of assault and I intend on pressing charges. But he’s also loved by the Father, so please pray for him.”
