On Tuesday, First Lady Michelle Obama tweeted a message to protesters in Washington, D.C. who are fasting for a pathway to citizenship: “We’re with you.”

Organizers of the fast for comprehensive immigration reform have said the fasters, who are “abstaining from all food–except water”–would be joined by “groups and activists who are prepared to make sacrifices for the passage of immigration reform with a path to citizenship.”
But as Breitbart News reported, liberal outlets had to concede that there were more journalists than activists at immigration events such as #Fast4Families last week in Washington, D.C.
President Barack Obama also acknowledged the fasters in his remarks on immigration reform in San Francisco on Monday.
