Former Playboy model and “Apprentice” contestant Brande Roderick, the recipient of Donald Trump’s infamous “on your knees” comment, has come out swinging against critics of the billionaire Presidential candidate.
Fox News host Megyn Kelly, one of the moderators in Thursday night’s debate, went after Trump during the event for telling Roderick on “The Apprentice” she’d look “pretty” dropping to her knees. Kelly also asserted the comment was part of the “war on women” mantra used by Democrats to attack GOP candidates.
Roderick appeared on both MSNBC and CNN Friday to defend Mr. Trump, telling both outlets she wasn’t offended, and as the host of a reality TV show, it was Trump’s job to entertain his audience.
“Like him, I didn’t even remember him saying that,” Roderick told MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts. “I’ve always had a positive experience around Donald. He’s always been encouraging. He’s never been disrespectful to me.”
Roderick also added: “I don’t condone men being derogatory, but I think he was just — he’s on television. He’s trying to be funny. I don’t think that he meant anything horrible by it.”
The former model also spoke to Inside Edition Friday, and said, “I kind of let it go in one ear and out the other because I’ve never had a negative experience with Donald.”
