A national day of protest against Planned Parenthood will be held on Saturday, August 22 at Planned Parenthood facilities in over 320 cities across the nation as well as in five other countries.

#ProtestPP, is a coalition headed by Citizens for a Pro-Life Society, Created Equal, 40 Days for Life, and the Pro-Life Action League, and is co-sponsored by more than 50 state and national pro-life organizations, states a press release. The coalition seeks to raise awareness about Planned Parenthood’s trafficking of aborted baby parts as seen over the past month in undercover videos produced by the Center for Medical Progress.

Eric Scheidler, executive director of the Pro-Life Action League, tells Breitbart News, “We’re expecting huge crowds to come out with over 320 locations throughout the United States, and we have five international locations, including Honduras, Mexico, and Ireland.”

“Our pro-life leaders are telling us they’ve received a tremendous response from people, emails pouring in, people offering to come out and willing to help,” he continued. “It’s likely we could get tens of thousands given all our locations.”

Scheidler said he has been informed that a couple of Planned Parenthood affiliates have asked people to come and hold banners that say, “Healthcare Happens Here” as a counter-protest. He added that a group called “Stop Patriarchy,” an organization he describes as one of the more “radical pro-abortion groups,” has also been calling for a counter-protest.

Many of the sites plan to have photos of abortion victims, Scheidler said, to raise awareness about where the body parts and organs are coming from.

“All politics is local. We cannot only look to Washington, DC and our state governments to solve this problem,” he said in a statement. “Planned Parenthood is located in large and small communities all across America. Each community with a Planned Parenthood abortion clinic or satellite office needs to take action against the killing of babies and the trafficking of their body parts.”

The locations of #ProtestPP can be found here.

National pro-life organization Live Action is a co-sponsor of the event. President Lila Rose said in a statement sent to Breitbart News that Planned Parenthood is an “organization responsible for the brutal deaths of more than 300,000 unborn children yearly and the inhuman practice of the harvesting, trafficking and profiting from baby organs.” Rose added:

Although the eyes of many have been opened thanks to the Center for Medical Progress videos, 70 percent of Americans report having heard little or nothing about the gross human rights abuses that are rampant at government-funded Planned Parenthood facilities. We hope that this demonstration will raise awareness about the dangers of Planned Parenthood, and help to stop the flow of more than half a billion in tax dollars annually to an organization that profits from killing children.

Similarly, Kristan Hawkins, who heads Students for Life of America, the nation’s largest organization of pro-life youth, said in a statement, “Planned Parenthood is on their heels, rightly reeling from being exposed for their barbaric business practices of cutting up and selling the body parts of babies they abort, even going as far as cutting out the brains of children with hearts still beating.”

“This is the turning point in the history of abortion in our nation and our time to speak out, to have our pro-life message of hope and love for both woman and child heard by the media,” she continued. “Women have been betrayed and Planned Parenthood has sold them and their preborn babies out, all for profit. What’s worse, we the taxpayers are footing the bill, giving over half a billion dollars a year to the abortion giant. It’s time to defund Planned Parenthood.”

Planned Parenthood did not immediately respond to Breitbart News’ request for comment.
