GOP frontrunner Donald Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski joined Breitbart News Daily with host Stephen K. Bannon on SiriusXM on Friday, and reacted to last night’s GOP primary debate.

Lewandowski says Trump won amid sustained attacks from “open borders candidate,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL). He also said Rubio was attacking Trump during the debate because Rubio’s donors are putting pressure on him to win as he’s only come in second, third and fifth place in the early primary states.

“Last night was a great debate for Mr. Trump if you look at the Drudge poll…all the polls,” Lewandowski told Bannon.

I think he stood there in the middle of two professional politicians that can’t get anything done, took their very best shot at Donald Trump, and walked away. And we were suceessful last night because the bottom line is Marco Rubio has to attack Donald Trump because his donors are saying to him, “If you don’t go and get a vitory sometime soon, we’re going to shut off your money.”

Lewandowski said if he were a donor, “I’d really be taking a second look at Marco Rubio to decide if I want to support a guy that probably isn’t going to win on Super Tuesday,” adding that Rubio believes in amnesty and is “an open border candidate.”

“Donald Trump is a clear frontrunner,” he added. “Marco Rubio continues to this day to be in favor of open borders” and letting people pour across them with no recourse.

“The mainstream media, the liberal Washington Post, the New York Times, a number of these publications are scared to death Donald Trump is going to win the nomination…because the only thing Donald Trump is accountable to is the people of this country,” Lewandowski said when asked about the establishment media covering Rubio as though he is the frontrunner.

“Of course China, of course Mexico do not want Donald Trump. They know if he gets in and becomes President of the United States, the days of taking advantage of the United States are over,” Lewandowski touted, saying Trump will renegotiate America’s trade deals.

“The people are tired of these mainstream media outlets telling them who should be the boss, who should be the nominee, because it hasn’t worked,” Lewandowski concluded. “We’ve had 30 years of failure in Washington, D.C. because these organizations have propelled people to the presidency that has failed our country and it’s shameful.”
