Kevin Spacey is teaming up with Megyn Kelly on a new political drama television series.

The House of Cards star and veteran Fox News host will executive produce the new White House drama The Resident, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Per THR, the show “follows the relationships between White House residence staffers and the various First Families that come into the famous address over the course of several administrations.”

The Resident is the first project under a first-look deal signed Tuesday between Spacey’s Trigger Street Productions shingle, 20th Century Fox Television, and Fox 21 Television Studios. Fox 21 Studios will reportedly produce the project with the hope of bringing it to cable.

Spacey’s Trigger Street co-founder Dana Brunetti said Fox was a perfect fit for their creative vision.

“Kevin and I are always looking to align Trigger Street with entities that understand what we expect to accomplish and how to maximize all resources to produce the best content possible,” Brunetti said in a statement. “Our past and current projects demonstrate how we do things differently and partner with who we feel are the best at what they do. Trigger Street and Fox have the makings of a powerful team, and we look forward to our upcoming projects.”

In addition to television projects like House of Cards, Trigger Street has produced Oscar-winning films like Captain Phillips and The Social Network.

Fox Television 21 Studios president Bert Salke told THR that Trigger Street is “exactly the type of partner we look for.”

The Resident, described as a cross between Downton Abbey and House of Cards, would be the latest in a long list of successful Beltway-set television shows including House of Cards, Scandal, Madam Secretary and Veep. HBO’s The Brink, starring Tim Robbins and Jack Black as State Department workers, premiered Sunday night.

The Resident will mark Megyn Kelly’s first foray into scripted programming.
