Actor Rockmond Dunbar is suing Disney and 20th Century Fox over his ouster from “9-1-1,” alleging that the studios have discriminated against him due to his race and religion.

In a statement Tuesday 20th Century Fox announced that it was “gratified” that “Empire” star Jussie Smollett had all 16 felony counts related to making a false police report dropped.

At this point, Smollett has no choice but to continue to claim he’s innocent. The kind of heartfelt confession that might salvage his career could also put him in a jail cell.   

Twentieth Century Fox Television studios issued a statement reacting to the felony charge against Empire actor Jussie Smollett in connection to staging his own hate crime, saying they are “evaluating the situation and we are considering our options.”

CHICAGO (AP) — “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett turned himself in early Thursday to face accusations that he filed a false police report when he told authorities he was attacked in Chicago by two men who hurled racist and anti-gay slurs and looped a rope around his neck, police said.

The “judge is expected to formally read the charge against Smollett, set his bond and then he will be released. Smollett will return to court at a later date to enter his plea,” reports ABC 7.

Empire actor Jussie Smollett has hired high-powered attorney Mark Geragos amid reports he orchestrated a racist and homophobic attack on himself last month in Chicago. Fox 32 Chicago reporter Rafer Weigel, citing sources at the Chicago Police Department, tweeted Wednesday that an indictment of Smollett may come in “a matter of hours. Not days”.
