Report: Fox News Shelves Rove

Karl Rove, the head of the much-maligned SuperPAC American Crossroads and former Bush senior advisor, has been shelved by Fox News, according to New York Magazine. Roger Ailes, head of Fox News, is reportedly rethinking the branding of the network in the aftermath of Barack Obama’s re-election. Rove and Dick Morris, former Clinton aide and oft-erroneous political pundit, have been put on a list of folks that require upper management approval for booking.

A Fox News spokesperson told New York Magazine that the rules were very real, and that “the election’s over.” Ailes was reportedly upset about Rove’s election night to-do with the Fox News election team after they called Ohio for Barack Obama early in the evening.

Rove is widely perceived within Tea Party circles to be a big government advocate.
