Originally meant to be “peaceful,” Monday protests took a turn for the violent when dozens of anarchists used street signs as weapons to smash windows in the downtown Macy’s store, slash the tires of police squad cars, and surround and intimidate a cop, who had to use pepper spray to fend them off.
