Pelosi Accuses Petraeus of Misrepresenting Number of Trained Iraqi Troops

Thursday at her weekly press briefing, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) reacted to a question about former CIA director and Ret. U.S. Army Gen. David Petraeus telling CBS News we are “probably losing” against ISIS in Iraq.

Pelosi took a swipe at Petraeus by saying on her trips to Iraq, he misrepresented the number of trained Iraqi troops ready to take over when the United States left.

Pelosi said, “Well, General Petraeus had the responsibility of training  the troops in Iraq. I remember going over there on any number of occasions and hearing from him on some of them that he had trained a hundred and seventy five thousand Iraqi troops and personnel so that they can take over their own effort. So I would ask him about that. I think the number was far smaller then was represented to us.”
