Petraeus: US ‘Probably Losing’ Fight Against ISIS

In an interview that aired in its entirety on “CBS This Morning” on Thursday, former CIA Director and Ret. U.S. Army Gen. David Petraeus, who once commanded American forces in both Iraq and Afghanistan, evaluated the U.S. effort against ISIS in the Middle East.

Petraeus downplayed any notion to host Charlie Rose that the United States was succeeding in the fight against ISIS.

“Well, you know, these are fights where if you’re not winning, you’re probably losing because time is not on your side,” Petraeus said. “It’s arguable now in Iraq. We’ll turn it around.”
