O’Reilly Continues Push for Kate’s Law, Sees Reporters Scolded By SF Officials

Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly continued his push for Kate’s Law on Tuesday.

O’Reilly, who has created an online petition for Congress to pass the law, promoted the law and criticized the “uber liberal, left media” for their opposition to the law. He also said that on Wednesday he would reveal which candidates for president support the law, and House Speaker John Boehner’s position. O’Reilly also said that he asked Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders to weigh in and that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) “has indicated that he will get behind Kate’s Law.”

Earlier in the segment, he played confrontations between members of the city’s Board of Supervisors and FNC’s reporters. O’Reilly said that after calling in an attempt to get interviews, the members of the board declined, “so we went to them.”

Supervisor Jane Kim argued, “I think the issue here is gun control. No individual with that type of record should be able to access or be able to have possession of a gun.” Supervisor Katy Tang, when she was asked on the street, said “Of course Fox News would be this rude.” After the reporter protested that they got no response when they went through her office, she replied, “because you’re interviewing the wrong f*cking person.” Supervisor Scott Wiener responded to an interview request with “Fox News is not real news, and you’re not reporter. I talk to real news only. Fox News is not real news.” When asked if he was upset the president didn’t reach out to the Steinle family, he answered, “Fox News is not real news.”
