Rand Paul: Trump Rhetoric ‘Empty Platitudes’

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Republican presidential candidate Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) said his opponent Donald Trump’s rhetoric was full of “empty platitudes” with no “substance.”

Paul said, “People have to decide if they want someone who says ‘she’s fat and I’m so good looking, I’m rich and smart because I’m rich.’ We have to decide if we want empty platitudes or look at substance. And I think for Donald Trump, basically, conservatives have to decide if he’s a fake conservative or not. And I think he is a fake conservative. He’s been on every side of every issue in the last five years.”
