Fordham Prof: When Trump Says He Wants to be ‘Law and Order Candidate,’ ‘All We Hear Is’ ‘George Wallace Tactics’

On Friday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” Fordham University Associate Professor of Political Science Christina Greer stated that “When Trump says he wants to be the law and order candidate, I mean, all we hear is, essentially, George Wallace tactics.”

Greer said, “When Trump says he wants to be the law and order candidate, I mean, all we hear is, essentially, George Wallace tactics. He’s trying to create this sort of apocalyptic scenario where ‘illegal immigrants,’ and essentially people of color are running the streets with guns and machetes, etc. And all he’s doing is tapping into the baseline fears of his sort of, white supporters, who really want and need to hear this as a justification for some of their feelings.”
