Dem Rep Suozzi: I Voted for ICE Support Resolution, But Putting It on the Floor ‘Was a Political Stunt’

On Friday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Representative Tom Suozzi (D-NY), who voted for a resolution supporting ICE, said that ICE is “important” but that “this was a political stunt, quite frankly, to put it on the floor.”

Suozzi said, “I do support ICE. I mean, ICE is an important government agency. And I thought this was a political stunt, quite frankly, to put it on the floor. I mean, why don’t we put on the floor that we support the intelligence agencies after the president knocked them? You know, you remember when the Republicans, back in 2015, were saying we should abolish the IRS. We’re not going to abolish the IRS. I mean, it’s a political stunt.”
