Sacramento Kings rookie guard Ben McLemore decided to weigh in on the events in Ferguson, Missouri in the Kings’ game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday by inscribing “RIP Mike Brown” on his shoe. Brown was shot and killed by Officer Darren Wilson, whose non-indictment was followed by riots in Ferguson and across the country.
McLemore hails from St. Louis; he played high school basketball at Wellston High School. He had to skip playing in the 2011-12 season at the University of Kansas because he attended three high schools and his transcripts were unclear. McLemore attended Wellston High, then Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., and Christian Life Center in Houston.

McLemore is averaging 11 points per game for the Kings.
