Four Rockets Fired from Gaza into Israel as Obama Visits

Four rockets were fired at Southern Israel from Gaza on Thursday, causing heavy damage to a home in Sderot, the Israeli border town near the Hamas-controlled Gaza area. The rockets were fired the second day of Barack Obama’s visit to the region, and were more lethal because the Iron Dome system, which normally defends the area against missile attacks by shooting the missiles down, was moved to Tel Aviv airport so Obama could “inspect’ it. One rocket hit the house, one landed in an open field, and two landed in the Gaza Strip.

Israeli analysts said that the rockets fired were a Hamas message for Obama–message for Obama from Hamas – that Hamas is the entity Obama needs to deal with and not the Palestinian Authority.
