MOSCOW, Oct. 31 (UPI) — Fugitive former U.S. security contractor Edward Snowden will be working in website maintenance in Russia, his lawyer said Thursday.
Anatoly Kucherena said Snowden begins his job Thursday maintaining “Russia’s largest [web]site,” RIA Novosti reported.
Kucherena did not reveal the name of Snowden’s new workplace “for security reasons.”
Snowden, a former National Security Agency contractor, fled the United States for Hong Kong and then Russia after leaking details of the NSA’s massive surveillance programs. Russia granted him temporary asylum in August, despite repeated extradition requests from the United States.
