Dec. 4 (UPI) — South by Southwest organizers announced Thursday that I Love Boosters starring Keke Palmer and Demi Moore will open the film and television festival in March.
The screening on opening night of SXSW also will be the world premiere of the film directed by Boots Riley.
“The mind-bending story centers around a crew of professional shoplifters known as The Velvet Gang who take aim at a cutthroat fashion maven,” a synopsis of the film reads.
The movie also stars Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige, Poppy Liu, Eiza Gonzalez, LaKeith Stanfield and Don Cheadle.
This is the third screening of a Riley film to play at SXSW after Sorry to Bother You in 2018 and the world premiere of I’m a Virgo in 2023.
The screening of I Love Boosters is scheduled for March 12, opening night of the SXSW festival, which runs through March 18 in Austin, Texas.
