Brexit deal defeat ‘a bitter day for Europe’: German vice chancellor

Berlin (AFP) – German Finance Minister and Vice Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Tuesday the defeat of Theresa May’s Brexit deal in the British parliament was a “bitter day for Europe.”

“This is a bitter day for Europe. We are well prepared — but a hard Brexit would be the least attractive choice, for the EU and GB (Great Britain),” he said.
