Feb. 5 (UPI) — Doctor Strange, 12 Years a Slave and Love Actually actor Chiwetel Ejiofor is to co-star with Scarlett Johansson in a new horror movie that will take place in The Exorcist universe.

The new Blumhouse-Atomic Monster film will also co-star Jacobi Jupe and Diane Lane.

This will mark a reunion for Ejiofor and filmmaker Mike Flanagan, who previously collaborated on the film, The Life of Chuck.

The movie is not considered a remake or a sequel to the 1973 classic, The Exorcist, starring Ellen Burstyn, Max Von Sydow and Linda Blair, but it will be somehow connected to the original story.

It is set for theatrical release on March 12, 2027.

Flanagan’s credits include The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep, The Life of Chuck, The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Fall of the House of Usher, Midnight Mass and The Midnight Club.
