Sept. 11 (UPI) — The shooting death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has spurred Comedy Central officials to pull a “South Park” episode that spoofed him from its rotation of reruns.

The episode titled Got a Nut first aired Aug. 6. and features character Eric Cartman as a Kirk-styled activist in a satire of his on-campus exchanges with students, Fox News reported.

The episode includes the presentation of an award called the”Charlie Kirk Masterdebater.”

Although Comedy Central pulled the episode from its rotation, Kirk encouraged others to watch the episode in an Aug. 7 social media post, according to ABC News.

“The ‘South Park’ episode just dropped, and honestly, it is hilarious,” Kirk said.

“Just this little snippet of our ‘Prove Me Wrongs,’ our viral cultural domination on primetime on Comedy Central — so important, so impactful that ‘South Park’ is highlighting. Watch,” he said.

Comedy Central scheduled the episode as a rerun on Wednesday night before removing it, but it still is available for streaming on Paramount+and On Demand.

Federal, state and local law enforcement continue searching for the suspected shooter who killed Kirk during a Utah Valley University event called “Prove Me Wrong” and sponsored by Turning Point USA early Wednesday afternoon, which Kirk co-founded.

Kirk suffered a single gunshot wound to his neck and was pronounced dead at Timpanogos Regional Hospital in Orem, Utah.

Comedy Central’s move comes as several GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill accuse Democrats and the media of fomenting hate against Kirk and other conservatives.

They include Reps. Derrick Van Orden of Wisconsin, Anna Luna of Florida and Nancy Mace of South Carolina.

Mace briefly sparred with NBC reporter Ryan Nobles, who asked her if the GOP is equally responsible for the shootings of two state Democratic Party lawmakers in Minnesota in June.

She declined to answer and said the moment’s focus is on Kirk’s shooting by a suspect whom she called a “raging leftist lunatic,” according to The Hill.
