April 2 (UPI) — Happy Face, The Substance, Reagan and Wyatt Earp actor Dennis Quaid is set to star as real-life racing legend Duane Whitlock in AMC’s NASCAR drama Thunder Road.
The cable network is working directly with NASCAR on the project.
Justified and Tulsa King alum Taylor Elmore is executive producing the show, while Untamed executive producer Cliff Roberts will serve as show-runner.
The series is being billed as “a multi-generational saga of the Whitlock family, whose legacy in stock car racing is as deep as the family’s ties to the southern hill country roots that shaped them.”
