Nov. 28 (UPI) — Country music legend Dolly Parton, who has been battling health issues that caused her to cancel public appearances and performances in recent months, posted an upbeat Thanksgiving message on social media Thursday.

In her new video, she was her glamorous self, smiling, wearing a teddy jacket and beaded necklace, with her signature hair and makeup perfectly done.

“I am so grateful for all of you and the memories that we’ve shared through the years,” Parton, 79, said.

“So, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, and just know that I will always love you,” she added, a nod to her famous ballad, which was also covered by the late Whitney Houston.

The Steel Magnolias and 9 to 5 star alarmed fans when she recently backed out of scheduled appearances at Dollywood and a residency in Las Vegas, and accepted her honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards via pre-recorded message.
