Iran nuclear inspections must continue despite deal exit: US official

Washington (AFP) – The White House wants intrusive inspections of Iran’s nuclear sites to continue despite President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from a landmark accord, US officials have told AFP.

“We expect Iran will continue to implement the Additional Protocol and cooperate with the IAEA whether or not the (deal) remains in place,” one senior administration official said, referring to inspections carried out by the UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency.
