Sept. 26 (UPI) — Five years after taking their Game of Thrones romance off-screen, unnamed sources confirmed Tuesday that actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are engaged.
A source familiar with the news confirmed it to People Magazine.
“They are 100 percent engaged, but they were trying to keep it quiet,” one source told Page Six.
Harington and Leslie were first linked in 2012, and made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2016 Olivier Awards. The couple moved in together in January, and in July, the actor who plays Jon Snow, gushed about the relationship.
“Thrones has been with me throughout all of my 20s. It’s been a journey, a strange journey,” Harington, who plays Jon Snow, confessed. “It’s remarkable having come into a show not having done any previous work in TV or film, and it becoming this crazy, big cultural phenomenon.”
“I met my girlfriend on the show and that has been the greatest gift of all,” he said.
Leslie portrayed Jon Snow’s love interest, the wildling Ygritte, in Seasons 2, 3 and 4 of Game of Thrones.
Season 7 of Game of Thrones concluded in August and Season 8 is scheduled to begin production in October.
Harington will next appear in a historical drama on BBC titled Gunpowder and Leslie is a series regular on CBS’ The Good Wife spinoff, The Good Fight.
