March 6 (UPI) — Paramount+ announced a new animated Garfield series Friday. Lamorne Morris will voice the orange cat who hates Mondays and loves lasagne.

Nickelodeon Animation Studios is producing the 2D animated series based on Jim Davis’s comic strip. Garfield is a working title.

A Saturday morning animated series, Garfield and Friends, featured Lorenzo Music as the voice of the cat. Recently, Bill Murray voiced a CGI Garfield in two live action movies, and Chris Pratt voiced him in a 2024 animated film.

Paramount+ is adding to its “kids & family” slate with Garfield, alongside The Elephant & Piggie Show and The Pigeon Show! Starring the Pigeon.

Morris starred on the sitcom New Girl and the Hulu comedy Woke. He recently appeared in Fargo Season 5 and the movie Saturday Night. He will co-star with Nicolas Cage in Spider-Noir.

Dave H. Johnson and John Trabbic III are executive producers of Garfield.
