Dec. 10 (UPI) — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a snow plow in a parking lot at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Tuesday evening.
The victim, who hasn’t yet been identified, was 47 years old. The parking lot was near Terminal 2, said Jeff Lea, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Airports Commission, which manages the airport. The incident was reported soon after 7:30 p.m.
The lot serves the in-flight catering services company LSG Sky Chefs
Temperatures were in the upper 20s, and light snow was falling at the time.
MSP Airport police are investigating with the help of the Minnesota State Patrol.
More than 200 flights out of the airport were delayed Tuesday.
On Wednesday, the city of Minneapolis declared a snow emergency beginning at 9 p.m.
