Oct. 19 (UPI) — Pop music star Sabrina Carpenter hosted this weekend’s edition of Saturday Night Live.

In her monologue, she addressed the backlash she received for the provocative cover of her latest album, Man’s Best Friend.

“Some people got a little freaked out by the cover. I’m not sure why. It was just this — me on all fours with an unseen figure pulling my hair, but what people don’t realize is that’s just how they cropped it. If you zoom out, it’s clearly a picture from the [SNL] 50th anniversary special of Bowen [Yang] helping me up by the hair,” she quipped.

“After Martin Short shoved me out of the buffet line, saying something like, ‘Daddy needs his mini-quiche.'”

She went on to try to clear up some misconceptions she thinks the public has about her.

“There’s really so much more to me,” she said. “I’m not just horny. I’m also turned on and I am sexually charged. I also love to read.”

Later in the show, she performed her hit song “Nobody’s Son” and appeared in comedy sketches such as “Girlboss Seminar” and “Grind Song.”
