Wendi McLendon-Covey says neck lift kept her from ‘Bridesmaids’ reunion

March 16 (UPI) — Bridesmaids alum Wendi McLendon-Covey missed the cast reunion at the Oscars as she recovered from a neck lift.

The actress, who portrayed Rita in the 2011 film, took to Instagram to discuss her absence.

“In response to some of the DMs I’m getting: I had a neck lift last week because I’m tired of looking like a melting candle. So I had to skip the Academy Awards. No drama. Everything is fine,” she wrote, alongside a photo of herself in bandages.

Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne, Maya Rudolph and Ellie Kemper reunited onstage as award presenters Sunday.

“I cannot believe that it’s been 15 years,” Wiig said onstage. “Now, we are not good with numbers but we figured out backstage that means we shot this movie in 1883.”
